Atlantis Eyecare just celebrated its sixth month Anniversary on electronic medical records. The feedback from patients and staff has been overwhelmingly positive although the transition and work presented many challenges. The motivation behind the change is improved patient care and efficiency. “Staff was more focused on finding and building charts, now we spend more time being attentive to our patients needs”, stated Alex Lopez, Chief Operating Officer for Atlantis Eyecare.
There has been an increase in communication with the primary care physicians and Optometrist in the community. “I love that I can fax a letter to the primary care doctor from the exam and we are just getting started” stated Dr. Sadri. There is still a lot of work to do.
“The real winner is our patients” stated Dr. Dwayne K Logan, CEO and Medical Director. “I expect better communication with the primary care physicians and improved coordination of care”.
